We are looking for a Solution Design Engineer who transforms customer requirements into optimized material handling solutions.
From exploring opportunities and understanding customer needs to developing 2D and 3D conveyor layouts, you will work end-to-end—from concept to site validation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Validate and capture customer requirements along with URS (User Requirement Specification) raised by the Sales team via Request for Quote.
- Collect data from customers by preparing query sheets; visit customer sites when required.
- Prepare Material Flow Diagrams and Throughput Diagrams based on customer inputs.
- Prepare 2D concept layouts of Material Handling (conveyor) systems.
- Discuss proposed solutions with the internal sales team and subsequently present to the customer.
- Prepare 3D static layouts of Material Handling (conveyor) systems.
- Freeze the layout technically with the customer (URS sign-off) for large/big-ticket orders.
- Validate the solution at site during installation in coordination with the Installation and Commissioning team.
- Capture project learnings and document them as FAQ sheets/Laws for continuous improvement.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D layout design
- Working knowledge of Demo3D or similar simulation/3D layout tools

- Present and position Armstrong Dematic’s service capabilities as a lifecycle value proposition.
- Identify operational gaps, reliability risks, and improvement opportunities at customer sites.
- Convert identified opportunities into executable service proposals and orders.
- Generate service revenue through spares, AMC/CMC, OSS, upgrades, and system modifications.
- Coordinate with service operations, engineering, and spares teams for solution finalization.
- Ensure smooth handover from order booking to service execution and closure.

- Strong understanding of automated systems (ASRS, Conveyors, Sorters, Robotics, WCS) and maintenance concepts (MTBF, MTTR, uptime, spares strategy)

Educational Qualification & Experience Required:
- BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- MBA in Sales, Marketing, or Operations will be preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Service Sales, After-Sales Service, Technical Sales, or Industrial Service Business Development.
- Experience in Intralogistics, Automation, Material Handling Systems, or Industrial Automation will be an added advantage.
